Priya Nair collects things. Receipts, maps, fabrics, letters, newspaper fragments, pharmaceutical packaging, instruction manuals — anything that was once used and then discarded. From these she builds layered collages that are simultaneously archaeological and deeply personal. Her work asks what ordinary objects remember, and what they forget. Born in Kochi and now working from Williamsburg, Priya completed her MFA at Hunter College in 2022 and has been included in the New Museum's "Triennial: Down, Up" group show. For WornCanvas, she created a series of garments that function like archives — every layer a different era, every color a different memory.
